What would you do if there were no Food Stamps??.

What do you think??.
House Republicans Cut Food Stamps. 2013 Farm Bill Brings Major Cuts to Food Stamps, SNAP Program | InTheCapital.

Let me ask what did mothers do in the 50's and 60's when there were no food stamps to give and some Mothers had 7 to 14 kids.
They didn't let them starve.
What do you think?.

These are the programs being cut.
1.Cuts to food stamps that could knock millions of low-income Americans out of the program.

2. Cuts to Meals on Wheels, a program that delivers meals to seniors or other individuals who are unable to prepare their own food.

3.Cuts funding to health exchanges that will be created under Obamacare and funding for Medicaid included in the same law.

  2. As an older single female (40) with 2 ruptured discs in my back from working 2 jobs to support my 2 sons, without child support or health care, I do now rely on the $120 a month that I get in food stamps since I am unable to work like I used to (I am also recovering from cancer surgery). But, I would gladly give up MY foodstamps in order to stop cuts to families with small children, to the elderly and to Meals on Wheels. During the late 1960s through the 1980s, my mother raised 4 children by herself, without receiving any benefits of any kind, and without child support. She also worked 2 jobs, around the clock for many years. She was shunned at the food stamp office the one time she did apply and was denied. She was made to feel completely worthless for even attempting to get help through the government back then. One whole chicken would end up feeding us at least 3 meals - baked chicken the first night, sandwiches the next day, and boil what was left of the meat off the bones and made a hearty broth for Chicken (not much by then) and Dumpling or Soup. We never had steak or seafood or went out to eat or had fast food, but we never starved and we were never picky about what mom put on the table for us to eat each day. We were grateful for what she had provided through all of her hard work. It may be time for America to get back to those basics & learn to provide for themselves.
