If passed Oct-1st, all women age 18 will be required to register for military draft.

The House Armed Services Committee approved a measure Wednesday, 4-27-16 requiring all women age 18 to register for the military draft, a move that comes just a few months after the Defense Department lifted all gender based restrictions on the frontline combat units. 

The House committee votes to require women to register for draft. It passed the committee by a vote of 32-30. Hunter’s amendment will be included in the defense policy bill that authorizes the defense budget for the fiscal year that begins. On Oct -1 The full House will take up the bill then. 

Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) said she supported Hunter’s measure.

“I actually think if we want equality in this country, if we want women to be treated precisely like men are treated and that they should not be discriminated against, we should be willing to support a universal conscription,” she said.

Rep. Martha McSally (R-Ariz.), a retired Air Force fighter pilot, said draftees aren’t exclusively sent to the front lines. There are plenty of other useful, noncombat positions for them to fill, she said. While the majority of domestic violence victims are women, abuse of men happens far more often than you’d probably expect. Typically, men are physically stronger than women and to embarrass to admit there being abused.  Men are also abused especially verbally, physically and emotionally. 

It doesn’t necessarily make it easier for men to escape the violence or the relationship. An abused man faces a shortage of resources, skepticism from police, and major legal obstacles.

No matter your age, occupation, or sexual orientation, though, you can overcome these challenges and escape the abuse. It still makes you feel weak and defeated and the answer is not to strike back. The answer should be to try and get help for the abuser and the family if its trying to save the relationship.

Millions of workers mostly women struggle to make ends meet on minimum wage. At just $7.25 an hour, or roughly $14,500 per year, the current federal minimum wage hasn't been raised in THREE YEARS and is leaving working families in poverty.

The Fair Minimum Wage Act of 2012 would gradually raise the federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $9.80 per hour, increase the tipped minimum cash wage from $2.13 per hour to 70 percent of the minimum wage, and index the minimum wage to keep pace with inflation. Increasing the minimum wage and tipped minimum wage are key steps toward fair pay for women.

Women represent nearly two-thirds of minimum wage workers.
A woman working full-time, year round at the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour earns just $15,000 – more than $3,000 below the poverty line for a family of three.

The federal minimum cash wage for tipped workers has been $2.13 per hour for 20 years. Women are nearly two-thirds of workers in tipped occupations. Raising the minimum wage to $9.80 per hour would boost earnings for more than 28 million workers, nearly 55 percent of them women, and help close the wage gap.

"One Moonlight two Souls".
A man will remember that the eyes may be confused by the change when the moonlight shines on her shimmering body. He will see the wetness of her lips. Then he fills the wanting need of her touch.
